What I won – Check out my March 2017 wins

What i won – Another Month Of Comping

It’s the start of another month, which means yet another review of another month of comping!   For those of you that are new to the blog I’m a comper.  You can read more about my comping and why I do it here.  But the short story is that after having to quit work due to keep up with my sons additional needs I needed to find something that meant we could still afford the nicer things in life!

This month has been amazing.  I’ve won so many excellent prizes.  I’ll try to cover them all here but I may keep things short as there’s quite a lot.  March saw prize draws for Pancake day, World book day as well as Mother’s day.  There were lots of effort based competitions about which I think is why there was so many oppurtunities to win.

Num Num Ultimate Pancake Bundle

I’m still waiting to receive this one but have been told it’s on its way! We made several pancakes this year and decided to have a theme of woodland animals.  Below you can check out my pancake creation that won the Num Nums competition

£30 Creams Voucher

A Twitter win for another judged pancake competition.  The competition was with ‘win a dinner’.  And the best part of this prize is that they sent me cash!  We’re still going to Creams though to spend it.  We’ve been so busy this month with hospital appointments, illnesses and events we’d pre-booked that we’re still waiting to treat ourselves.  Below you can see our winning entry for this competition.

Joseph Joseph and Clarks bundle

This one was an instagram competition.  My pancakes were successful again!  I received a lovely bundle of Joseph Joseph kitchen goodies as well as a bunch of Clarks maple syrup.

Yachting Book of your choice

This was a World Book day competition ran by the royal yacht association on twitter.  They were awarding books of choice to their favourite pictures.  We were one of their lucky winners with Chase’s Ron Weasley.  We got a fab book all about yachting with an activity book too.  We’re hoping to do some disability sailing later this year so this makes a lovely introduction to it for Chase

Where’s Wally Goody Bag

Good Old where’s wally is 30 years old!  This was another world book day competition that was run by books etc online over on their instagram account.  This was an easy like and comment.

£100 worth of Lord and Berry Make up (and then another £100 for your best friend!)

Loved this prize!  Especially because both me and my best friend received a prize from it.  We both received a lovely bundle of make up.  This was a simple like, comment and tag your best friend who you would also like to win.

Tweezerman Grip and snip cuticles

These rather funky looking cuticle snippers were won on Tweezermans account on Instagram.  It was a simple like and comment.  It was low entry as the competition wasn’t on for very long

Playstation 4 and PES game

You may be thinking this is a duplicate as I won one of these last month.  But it’s not!  Tesco had an additional draw alongside the #walkersunited competition during March.  If you’re selfie with your walkers crisp packet was taken with a promotional stand in Tesco’s you were entered into an additional prize draw.  I was lucky enough to be drawn as a winner!

Sony Bluetooth Headphones

Another prize from the additional Tesco draw with walkers crisps.  I won these the day after I won the Playstation 4.  These are amazing and I love not having any wires now when I’m listening to music.  My husband also won himself a set.

UEFA Football

Can you guess where this was won from?  That’s right the addition Tesco draw in conjunction with Walkers!  I won this the day after I won the bluetooth headphones.  My husband was also lucky enough to win one.

1 Night Stay and 2 day Family ticket to any Merlin Theme Park of my choice

Love this prize!  I’m yet to book it but we’re going to go to Alton Towers so we can check out Cbeebies land.  The kids are really excited that they get to stay at the Alton Towers hotel as well!  This was a judged effort competition ran by Npower.  There were 3 winners and they wanted to see you parenting super powers.  You can check out my entry here as well as see some of the other entries submitted.  I had so much fun making this video.  This was something I really wanted to win this year as hotel stays at the actual theme park can be very expensive!

Barbie Convertible Toy Car

Did you know it was National Barbie Day last month?  I didn’t but discovered a competition thanks to tweet deck.  It was a simple RT to win ran by ‘We Buy Any Car’.  I haven’t managed to get a picture of this yet as I’ve hidden it away from Brooke as this is being saved for a birthday!

An iPad

!!! I’ve been trying to win one of these since I began comping.  This was won on twitter with a RT to win competition ran by a kickstarter company called swapbots.  I didn’t get too excited when i was announced as a winner as bein a kickstarter company I did wonder if they would tell me I would get the prize once they hit their funding target.  I was correct!  They did actually hit their funding target a few days ago so now I’m just thinking about how I can nicely message them to ask when will I be receiving my ipad.  I’ll keep you updated next month as whether i receive my prize or not!

Virgin experience of my choice and £50 pandora gift card

This was a fab effort competition that I found listed on Super Lucky Di’s site under her mother’s day effort competitions.  I decided to nominate my Mum for a style award using my favourite photo I have of us.  It was a judged competition and I couldn’t believe it when I had a message to say I’d won.  I decided to pick a theatre and afternoon tea for 2 in London experience.  My mum was horrified that I’d used that photo (she doesn’t like it) but didn’t mind when I told her what I’d won for her!

Flowers

Another Mother’s Day Competition.  This one was ran by Vodafone on twitter.  The prize was for a pair of new Samsung phones.  A few days before the competition closed i received a DM from Vodafone saying they really liked my photo and would like to send my mum a bunch of flowers.  Can you guess what photo I used?….I wasn’t the winner of the phones but the flowers my Mum recieved were beautiful and I thought it was a nice touch by the company to award extra prizes.

Marks & Spencer Dine in for 2 Voucher

Another mothers day competition again on Twitter.  This was ran by TP-Link and there was 10 prizes available.  You had to RT and answer the question “What makes your mum great?”.  From what I can count there was only 22 entries for the 10 prizes, so very very low entry!

Spa Day for 2 with treatments

I won this on Facebook with a simple like and comment on the Save time Save Mummy page. I was surprised it was such low entry as it was actually listed on competition database.

Skin Smith Skincare set

My last win for Mothers Day was a fab skin care set from Skin Smith.  I love skin care but can’t stretch my budget to afford the brands that I like.  Can’t wait to try this out

An Adult Scooter of my choice from Microscooters

I tried (and failed) to win one of these earlier this year with a judged effort competition they ran.  This time though they had 20 up for grabs which meant much higher chances of winning if I put the effort in!  You can check out my winning entry here.  They asked to see what type of adventure would you have if you could scoot together.  I went all out as I really wanted to win an adult Scooter.  I almost didn’t realise I had won as they didn;t contact me at all!  It was only thanks to one of my comping friends (thanks Kate!) who tagged me to let me know I had won.  I then had to contact the company on twitter and ask how could I claim my prize.  Once I had done that though my scooter arrived the very next day!

Other wins
  • Bundle of Rug Doctor Products from Rug Doctor on Twitter.  A simple RT to win
  • £20 shopping voucher for a Red Nose Day picture and n Twitter
  • 2 Cineworld Cinema tickets from Office Monster RT to win on Twitter.
  • £10 Walls Sausage roll vouchers, with a find the word crossword puzzle on Twitter
  • £20 Booth voucher from Booths on Twitter.  RT and tell them what you was doing for Mother’s day
  • Sweatpea Baking pack on twitter.  Show them a picture of your child giggling.  There is also a grand prize winner judged at the end of this competition.  The Grand prize is a years worth of their products as well as a £150 day out voucher.
  • My husband ALSO won a PS4 with Walkers. We’re both still trying to win the UEFA tickets!

Phew! Thanks for reading all the way down here.  Such an excellent month.  I’m sure I’ve maybe missed a few wins but managed to get all the big ones in the article.  I did put quite a lot of time and effort into finding competitions myself this month as well as the time to do my effort entries.  For the compers reading this how did you do?  For those new to comping or interested in starting feel free to ask me any questions in the comments.  Thanks for reading and Good Luck everyone for April!

Oh. My! What an outstanding month! That’s virtually a win day isn’t it? I always love to see a masterclass in comping – it reminds me that I must try harder!

My March did not go anything like this! Following a mediocre February, I was expecting the worst for March, and correspondingly made one of the shortest unboxing videos ever! That said, on the last day of the month, just I was uploading the video, I received a winning notification from WD40 for a super big prize, so it just goes to show – you’ve got to keep the faith!

This is amazing! So inspiring. I think I just had the one win in March, which was some toys that just turned up unexpectedly so that was nice. I’m trying to find time to comp around my new job but it’s hard! Good luck for April 🙂

Wow ! Some amazing prizes there ! I love reading of other people’s wins as it gives me the incentive to keep going, especially when I haven’t won anything for a while.
    Good luck for April xx
