The kids and Mr Glam & Geeky were delighted last week to receive a package through the post of Shaken Udder milkshakes to try out. I’m not a milk drinker but the kids (and especially Dan) are quite big milkshake fans. The brainchild of Howie & Jodie Shaken Udder Milkshakes were first released in 2004 and have been growing in popularity since. Shaken Udder make a range of milkshakes with British milk all sourced locally, and all packaging is fully recyclable
The range of flavours we received were more extensive than I imagined were even made in milkshakes. Our package contained a case of each of the flavours in the 330ml bottle range as well as a mini selections of the kids milkshakes 200ml cartons available in chocolate and strawberry.
I loved the thoughtfulness of some of the names on the adult milkshakes, Top Banana being my favorite named milkshake!
Straight away husband Dan and eldest step daughter Olivia decided they wanted the Salted caramel and Vanilla flavoured milkshakes as their first try. Meanwhile in the kids range my 5 year old went for Chocolate and my 8 year old for strawberry.
Dan was super impressed with the salted caramel flavour. Initially he was quite worried it would be too sickly but he said the balance was just right and he really enjoyed the drink.
Olivia absolutely loved the Vanilalicious flavour, ‘OMG, it tastes of ice cream!’ she declared after her first sip. Needless to say the milkshake didn’t last her long.
My 8 year old son regularly has to drink prescribed ‘milkshakes’ as part of his diet to ensure he gets enough calories. You might think this is awesome but honestly they don’t taste particuarly nice (we’ve tried them!). It was a nice treat for him to try a regular milkshake (in addition to his usual prescribed ones). He gave the strawberry flavour he had 10/10 and drank it way quicker than he takes to drink his usual drink.
Lastly Brooke was delighted to be sampling the chocolate milkshake. She decided it tasted of chocolate ice cream and gave it ‘150 thousand, 10 million billion out of 10’
Taste Testing Success!
Everyone enjoyed their milkshakes and as a parent it was nice to know that as a treat they also had nutritional value to them from the calcium and B12 in them (as hard as I try my kids are not yet fans of broccoli or sardines to get the calcium they need in their diet!)
Dan has since tasted the rest of the range and not yet found a flavour he didn’t enjoy.
To check out the range or maybe buy some Shaken Udder milkshake yourself then you can checkout their website, or follow them on Twitter and Instagram as they quite often run brilliant competitions (and you all know how much i love competitions!)
I received a selection of Shaken Udder Milkshakes free for the purpose of writing this blog post, all thoughts and opinions are my own
