Welcome back everyone to July’s unboxing! For those of you that are new to the blog I’m a comper. You can read more about my comping and why I do it by clicking the link. But the short story is that after having to quit work due to keep up with my sons additional needs I needed to find something that meant we could still afford the nicer things in life.
At the beginning of the month I went along to my daughter’s first ever Sports Day. I wasn’t expecting there to be a parent’s race but turns out there was one, I’m a huge lover of athletics so decided I would have to have a go and enter. Long story short I fell over the finish line with some force and knocked myself out giving myself a concussion to boot., whoops!
Coupled with deciding to make a Millenium Falcon for the Heart radio Star Wars competition (with said concussion) I actually didn’t get a huge amount of comping done this month. We did take some ridiculous photos though (and made a video too!) and we are now the owners of the most awesome cosplay that fits on Chase’s wheelchair at the next ComicCon we visit!
This month’s unboxing stats sees 11 prizes opened worth approximately £880. That’s 2 prizes more than June but £955 less in value. This just goes to show how different months can be and also how just one big win can change things.
3 of this months prizes were judged competitions and the rest were prize draws, Facebook was my least successful platform this month with most wins split evenly between Instagram and Twitter.
Check out the video below to see exactly what we won and how we won it.
The school summer holidays are here!! This is a particularly tough time of the year for me time wise. Those of you who are regular readers of the blog will know that my son Chase has a myriad of additional needs so trying to meet his care needs whilst entertaining another two younger children on top can get very difficult. Sometimes at the end of the day all I want to do is chill out and play video games rather than sit down and have a comping session.
My plan is to try and squeeze in the odd social media comps in between his care and we will also focus on finding competitions that we can all enter as an activity. Di Coke has some great suggestions for children’s summer competitions over on the SuperLucky blog which we will be having a go at!
Good luck for August everyone and hope your July was filled with wonderful winning moments.
