December 2016 wins!

December 2016 wins!

This past year I attempted to make an unboxing prize video, not one, not two but three times! (I’ve just given myself a three times an earworm by typing that – great…)  Somehow something got in the way and i never managed it, so to replace that this month I am simply listing off the prizes I won and where and how i won them.

December is the busiest month for compers i they decide to enter all the advent competitions, i started with good intentions and managed to clear the advent list on competition database the first day, but boy was it boring and soul-destroying too – i decided not to bother for the rest of the month and just enter competitions as i saw them.  Our holiday away also have severely restricted wi-fi and i had no mobile phone signal so my plan to comp in the evenings when the kids were in bed were totally scuppered!  But anyway let’s get on with what i won!

A Festive Wetbag (a double one!) – from Little Sunshine Hut on Facebook, a simple like and comment for this one, we’re a cloth nappy household so wetbags are always needed!

A hairband from Emerald Street – from a website prizedraw, it’s a special hairband that never snags or gets hair caught in it apparently!

Palmers Mother and Baby Set – a really generous bundle of goodies from Palmers range for mums and babies, another Facebook like and comment

ASOS £50 voucher – this was an effort competition from YooMoo on Instagram who wanted you to show off your Autumn Winter style

Amazon £10 voucher – part of the McDonalds christmas advent promotion in conjunction with the Blippar app, you had to scan their tray liner every day using their app to see if you had won one of the vouchers, i did it every day and only one once at 3am in the morning!  A few other compers were lucky enough to have multiple wins with this one!

£10 Cash – from Boon, this required you to download the Boon app and then enter the competition via their woobox form to see if you had instantly won £10

Pom Pom Wow Snap and decorate – Another advent win from Facebook from a like and comment

Kiehls formula bundle – One of my lovely comping friends messaged me about this one which was a low entry regram competition on Instagram, I was thrilled to win some of their skin care products as it’s very expensive to buy!

Healthy Hamper – I’m yet to receive this one yet, this was a simple RT (retweet) competition ran by Push Doctor, it’s due to be filled with £150 worth of healthy snacks, perfect for that January detox (which I’ll need, seeing as its New Years eve whilst I’m writing this i am trying to eat all the unhealthy food in the house)

Box of Butterkist Popcorn – a twitter competition all the way back from September, you had to show off your sharing bowl and see if you were randomly chosen, we got a massive box of popcorn with loads of different flavours to try (I’ve already shotgunned the salt and sweet pack, I can still eat this in the New Year, popcorn’s healthy right?)

This Works grand prize bundle – A massive collection of products from This Works.  This was a Facebook competition where they asked for your christmas wish.  There were a lot of peace on earth comments but although that would be a lovely ideology i opted to make the christmas wish of managing to safely defrost the duck and cook christmas dinner on the world’s smallest electric oven! (FYI the duck spoilt during defrosting and we had to throw it away so we had sausages as our meat this year-oops!)

So that’s everything, not bad considering i really didn’t have a huge amount of time to enter competitions – and also quite amazing seeing as i only did one full day of advent competitions!  I hope any of you that are compers reading this also had a successful December!

    Congratulations on the month’s wins!

We had duck for Christmas dinner too – I think we had better luck with it tho – still, at least you’ve got a story for next year’s advent comps, right?!

A great story for next years comps! You’re the first person I’ve found that also had duck for Christmas dinner

It was our first time cooking duck (actually, I can’t take credit…), and it turned out to be exactly the right size. To be fair though, My eldest lad would have preferred a plate full of sausages – you can’t please all the people all the time! Better luck for Christmas 2017!

Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
