I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I wrote my last comping review. Here we go with this year’s post with lots of statistics and the mathematical goodness that is pie charts.
In 2019 I won a total of 176 prizes worth a grand total of £17.482. This figure includes all of my wins for this year (some of these I’m still to receive) as well as prizes won by friends that I have then received (such as tag a friend you both win as well as the amazing trip to Edinburgh me and another 3 compers took in September).
NUMBERS VS VALUE
Compared to last year the number of prizes we won was down by 42 – however the value went up by almost £5K. I’d like to put this down to ignoring a lot of the lower value throw away prizes, but some of it could just be the random pattern of draws also known as luck!
- 43 of all prizes won were £100 or over
- 7 of all prizes won were £500 or over
- 4 of all prizes won were £1000 or over
My lowest prize value wins were an In the Night Garden activity pack which was simply a poster and an activity sheet won as part of the daily advents – i couldn’t even put a price on that one! The next lowest value was a car ice scraper with warming mitt – worth only £2 but it has been used such a huge amount of time!!!
My highest value win came towards the beginning of the year – our wonderful £2019 of Ticketmaster vouchers for 2019, we’ve been to so many events and still have some left to take us through to 2020!
MY FAVOURITE COMPING MOMENTS OF 2019
It’s always lovely to take the time to look through my list of wins at the end of the year and remind myself of all the wonderful things comping has delivered. The main highlights for me have involved other compers. From an all paid trip to Edinburgh with 3 of my comping friends in September to taking part at Super Lucky Live the following month. I hoping to meet up again with so many of my comping friends in 2020, it’s great spending time with other people who share this amazing hobby.
I was also lucky enough to use a voucher i won to pay for an all inclusive holiday for me and my friend to Malta, I’d had no luck last year with holidays so it was great to be able to have so many breaks away this year.
Comping Goals 2020
Last year I said I wanted to win experiences for 2019 and I did just that! I’d like to continue with this theme for 2020, whilst it’s nice to win ‘things’ it’s the memories from experiences that stay with us for a lifetime. My daughter Brooke is still going on about how amazing it was to meet David Walliams this year.
We already have one family holiday on the table for 2020 spread amongst us so I would love to win some short breaks too and maybe another family holiday that covers all 7 of us (a difficult task but surely not impossible!).
What are your comping hopes and aspirations for 2020? I’ll be sorting out my wish list in January as well as drawing up some action plans for the year to keep me on my toes.
Hope you all have a fabulous New Year and thanks so much to everyone for the support over 2019.
