2018 Comping Stats – My Yearly Review

2018 Comping Stats – My Yearly Review

I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I wrote my last comping review.  Here we go with this year’s post with lots of statistics and lovely pie charts.  In 2018 I won a total of 218 prizes worth a grand total of £12,579.  This figure is for all of my wins (some of these I’m still to receive).  I did not win a single holiday (again!) so I’m still pretty impressed with this total  Let’s break it down!

Compared to last year the number of prizes we won was very similar to last year, however there was a sharp drop in the value, last year we totalled over £20500 of prizes. So why the drop? I spent roughly the same amount of time comping so I think it’s really down to not putting as much effort into my judged effort competitions and of course – Luck!

  • 39 of all prizes won were £100 or over
  • 2 of all prizes won were £500 or over
  • 0 of all prizes won were £1000 or over

My lowest prize value was a single pot of Fruit in juice worth £1.10 and my highest value prize was a massive BBQ set with cover with a RRP of roughly £820

It’s always lovely to take the time to look through my list of wins at the end of the year and remind myself of all the wonderful things comping has delivered. Family days out like our trip to Gulliver’s Land my second trip to the Brits and a £150 spend at Gordon Ramsey’s Heddon Street Kitchen are some of my favourite wins in 2018. Whilst it’s lovely (and super money saving) to win things, memories from events always feel that little bit more special.

I’m hoping to win a lot more experiences and days out in 2019, and who knows maybe I’ll finally win a holiday this year too! What are your comping hopes and aspirations for 2019?

Fruit in juice may be a small prize but it has to be worth more than the drawstring bags given away in the Cadbury’s football promotion 😀

I honestly thought I’d won a crate of them, when only one turned up my face was shook 😂

Bet it cost more to mail than it was worth!

Well done. Cadbury’s draw string bags are useful for packing shoes in when you do win a holiday!
