2017 Comping Stats – My Yearly Review

2017 Comping Stats – My Yearly Review

I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I wrote my last comping review.  Here we go with this year’s post with lots of statistics and lovely pie charts.  In 2017 I won a total of 224 prizes worth a grand total of £20,587.  This figure is for all of my wins (some of these I’m still to receive).  I did not win a single holiday this year so I’m pretty impressed with this total.  Let’s break it down!

What A Year!

Compared to last years stats there has been a HUGE increase in numbers won as well as prize value.  I put this down to learning how to use Twitter efficiently, entering more effort competitions and also mastering how to find my own competitions.  This lead to a fairly large number of higher value prizes

  • 44 of all prizes won were over £100
  • 12 of all prizes won were over £500
  • 4 of all prizes won were over £1000

My lowest prize value was a Naked noodles Thai Green Pot for 95p and my highest value prize was an Electric Bike worth £1500.

Stand Out Wins

There’s been several stand out wins this year, many of which I’ve already blogged about.  Seeing Chase as an FA Cup Mascot was a prize that made me particularly proud.  He loved every minute of it right up until his Cerebral Palsy caught up with him to the end of the day and was just so physically and mentally exhausted he ended up leaving the match at half time. On a side note though that at least confirmed to me that Chase still isn’t able to stay up past 8pm without health implications.

My husband winning the title of Ultimate Crunchy Nutter was also another hilarious and memorable win.  Friends were constantly messaging us confused, had Dan taken up acting? He started to appear on YouTube adverts, one friend even caught him on the big screen as they showed his Crunchy Nut crowning video on the cinema adverts.

Finally another win which I was ever so proud of was my Ignition Moment win with Currys PCworld.  We’ve made a few videos on our channel already and will be adding more in 2018.  We’ve recently had a break because our youngest Harper is determined to pull out every single cable, climb on Chase’s wheelchair and hit of all Chase’s controls which has made gaming currently impossible!

If you want to see every prize that I unboxed in 2017 then you can see all the posts here. It’s worth mentioning all these stats are based on what I’ve won – not what I’ve unboxed, so you may notice a slight variation compared to my monthly win posts.

I didn’t win a holiday in 2017 (although I did win quite a few mini breaks away in the UK).  Next year I’m hoping to win a family holiday although with being a family of 7 and needing wheelchair access that can be a difficulty.  I’ll be looking to see if I can win a few smaller breaks and take away smaller numbers of children in one go if possible.

On the blog in 2018 there is already some new comping guides in the works.  To make sure you don’t miss a post pop your email into the subscribe bar on the right of the blog post (for those on mobile scroll down).  How did your 2017 go? Wishing you a happy New Year and lots of luck!

Fab charts as always- always interesting to see what’s working for other people and you’ve done awesomely well this year! Do you not do purchase necessary competitions or do you just record them separately?

Yes they are in there, I forgot put a figure in for how many (they’re split amongst the website, instant win, etc) I’ll have to have a look through and check how many are purchase neccessery!

I’m always in awe of you!! My comping resolutions this year are to set up a spreadsheet (tick!) and become as awesome as you on tweetdeck. Unfortunately as 90% of my comping is on my phone its quite difficult but I’ll be hitting it hard while on Mat leave! xx

How awesome would it have been if tweet deck was still available on smart phones! Need to set myself some New Years comping resolutions, I’ve actually been really lax with tweetdeck since December

Amazing stats, I have got to say I’ve almost given up on twitter !!
After over 2000 tweets & ‘zero’ wins, I’ve figured I’m cursed when it comes to twitter.
Would really love any advice. My twitter handle is @118sadie

      Thanks Sadia! I’ve had a quick nose at your twitter and it’s possible you’re being filtered out by Twitter because your account is so heavily dominated by RTs to win as well as lots of similar tweets from blog comps that you’ve entered (also sometime referred to as shadow banning) in – short;
      1. Use your twitter for other things than just comping (this means write your own tweets rather than RT in between doing your comps)
      2. When entering a RT to win always write a comment. Even if it’s not asked for.

It wasn’t until I started to use my account heavily for things other than just RT to win competitions that I actually started to win on Twitter!
